Friedrich

Friedrich manufactures air conditioners for commercial and residential use. Ed Friedrich started the company in 1883 in San Antonio, Texas. Initially, Ed Friedrich designed and sold furniture but then went on to developed one of the first refrigeration systems. In 1952, the company added room air conditioners to its product line.

Today, Friedrich’s products include portable air conditioners, room air conditioners, through-the-wall units, ductless split systems, packaged terminal air conditioners, portables and dehumidifiers. The company’s units have a reputation for quiet as well as for energy efficiency and commercial grade durability. Additional features of Friedrich air conditioners include programmable timers and thermostats.

The company’s innovative product lines include Kühl, the first room air conditioner controllable via computer, smart phone or other mobile devices. Other Friedrich products include ZoneAire, the company’s portable air conditioner. ZoneAire features a unique dual hose design that allows it to cool up to 40% faster than single hose units.

For commercial needs, Friedrich offers ceiling cassettes and ceiling suspended models as well as window units and through-the-wall units. Friedrich also offers the Hazardgard line for hazardous commercial venues like military bases and oil rigs.
